Out at Saguaro East, we started our 2 1/2 mile steady rocky climb up and around small mountains. It was a beautiful day as we headed out with about 20 of us.
The many views of the valley from several of the open areas were really pretty.
After reaching the waterfall area, there was no water due to lack of rain this season but the shade for a rest was welcomed since it had turned very warm.
Time to head back and were not looking forward to the rocky trail back down. A fellow hiker knew of a less strenuous trail so we voted for that route! However, the hike went from 5.2 miles to 7.6 miles.
We all enjoyed the hike but were glad to reach the end after such a long afternoon.
