The hike on Wednesday, Dec. 14, was out at Saguaro National Park East. A cool morning quickly led to an unseasonably warm day. Whew! Didn’t take long to come out of jackets and long sleeves! One group took the Hope Camp Trail, and the little more daring group took the Coyote Wash Loop.
Our miles through the wash sure were rough on the calves and ankles as we trudged through the gravel and sand! It was like walking in deep sand on a beach. However, it was nice and cool in the gully.
That’s where we found a lot of Mountain Lion tracks. Yikes! Glad we were in a group and not some cat’s lunch!
We had warm sun and nice views once we reached the top of the trail. It is always fun to explore a new trail and take in new scenery. This 6 mile loop trail is a keeper for another season.
