As I did not get to hike yesterday, due to an early morning dental
appointment, I decided to hike today. I had to get up super early to take friends to the airport any way so I took off from the park to do the Flight path trail again.
This time I did it clockwise! It gave it a whole new perspective. I left at 6am from the front gate. I drove my car to the gate, it opened, I backed up real quick, parked and jumped out, got my gear but then the gate had closed. So I left my gear by the gate, drove the car up, backed up and parked, then ran like hell to the gate! Made it! There must be an easier way to get the gate open for early morning hikes!
Saguaros, are starting to bloom, but not a lot at this time. I was back at the park by 8am. I had purchased some Superfeet insoles and did notice the difference my feet felt. I also bought new trekking poles. Much lighter than my monopod! I may try the Boulder belt trail Saturday, early am! If anyone is still here, meet me at the gate at 6am!
