The trail is an easy trail, that starts climbing on a gentle slope for most of the way, with few steps to go up. We started at 4,993 ft and ended at the upper parking area, 5,377 ft elevation for a ascent of 540 ft in 2.23 miles.
Very little wildlife on our short trip, a few birds and a deer! On the way down we stopped at some cabins where they had some bird feeders out and saw some hummers and Lesser Gold Finch.
Our group split into two hikes. The second group went up the Bogs spring trail. From what I heard the had a great hike. If anyone from that group would like to wrote up information for that hike, please do so at the bottom of this page in the comment section and it will be emailed to me.
