Our day started with a long drive to Saguaro National Park East. Along the way we had a little rain/snow fall upon us. By the time we reached the staging area, it had stopped, but remained cool.
25 hikers took the challenge of taking the longer and more uphill trail. 4 other hikers led by Lois took a 5 mile hike via the Garwood trail looping back to the staging area.
We did a steady climb up and up to over 3660 feet. Not to rocky and many areas did have “steps” finally turning down hill and turning onto the Three Tanks trail. We stopped for lunch at the “tanks” and then proceeded on to the junction with the Garwood trail and back to the staging area.
